Working together in therapy

Therapy can help you understand the ways you’ve learned to survive — what still supports you, and what may now feel exhausting or limiting. The strategies that once helped you cope may now leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected.

In our sessions, we might explore:

  • anxiety, stress, or emotions that feel hard to hold
  • how past experiences shape your relationships and impact daily life
  • emotional regulation and nervous system responses
  • attachment patterns and relational dynamics
  • boundaries, self‑worth, and balancing your needs with others’
  • feelings of disconnection or what your body may be holding
  • the ongoing impact of childhood or early experiences

Supporting change, gently

Therapy offers a space to slow down, notice what’s happening inside and discover ways of responding that feel more like you.

We can’t change what has happened in the past, but we can explore how those experiences continue to shape your present — at work, in relationships, or in how you care for yourself. Over time, this can help life feel steadier and more manageable.

My approach is shaped around you. Together, we find ways of working that feel right for your needs, your pace, and your story. Therapy is a journey we walk side by side

The therapy space we create

My role is to be curious with you — to explore what your voice is saying, and sometimes what it’s not saying. Together we can make space for the parts of you that have been quiet, protective, or hidden so they can share their narrative when they’re ready.

You may prefer to talk, or you may find it easier to express yourself in other ways, as words are not always easy to find. If it feels right, we might use visuals, objects, or creative tools to help bring your inner world into the room. For young people, this might include games like Uno, Dobble or activities that help the space feel safe and accessible.

FAQs

What if I don’t know where to start?
You don’t need to arrive with a clear story or a list of things to talk about. Many people begin therapy simply knowing something feels heavy or out of place. We can start wherever feels manageable — even if that’s just noticing how you’re feeling in the moment.
What if I find it hard to put things into words?
Words aren’t always easy to find, especially when emotions feel big or tangled. We can use other ways of exploring your inner world — visuals, objects, creative tools, or simply noticing what’s happening in your body. There’s no “right” way to express yourself here.
What if I get emotional in a session?
Emotions are welcome. Therapy is a space where feelings can show up safely, and we take things gently. You won’t be rushed or pushed to go further than feels okay. We can pause, slow down, or ground together whenever you need.
How long will therapy take?
There’s no set timeline. Some people come for a short period to explore something specific; others stay longer as they make sense of deeper patterns. We check in regularly so the work continues to feel meaningful and manageable for you.
Can therapy help if I feel disconnected from myself?
Yes. Much of the work involves gently noticing what’s happening inside — your emotions, patterns, and protective parts — so you can reconnect with the version of yourself that’s been there all along.
