Exploring childhood trauma through the child’s voice

Are you working with, or caring for a child who has experienced developmental trauma, or working with an adult client and their wounded inner child?

Have you often wondered how you can deepen your understanding of their lived experience and the effects of trauma, or how to work with the unsaid? Have you found yourself sometimes stuck in building these relationships and connections, or struggled with how to bring the theory to life?

If so, this workshop could be what you are looking for! Come and join me on an immersive journey as we take time to hear that child’s voice and have the space to really reflect and deepen our understanding of what it is like to experience developmental trauma. How we can use their voice, their words, to shape and strengthen our own practice.
Calm The Waves training Course

In this training, you will have space to:

  • Consider the impact of trauma on our nervous system
  • Look at why trauma wires us for protection and not connection
  • Consider your own attachment style and how that comes into play
  • Reflect on the importance of the therapeutic relationship

A Workshop Understanding the Effects of Childhood Trauma Through the Child’s Voice

Impactful training to understand how to “just be” with CYP living with the impact of trauma.

TM, Therapist

This training was genuinely powerful and unlike anything I have attended before, it was incredibly impactful and made me stop and really think about how we view, interpret and respond to children’s experiences

RM, Supervising Social Worker
The content of the course was extremely valuable to me as a mentor and teacher that uses a therapeutic approach. Having so many therapeutic themes interwoven into an incredibly engaging day of learning has been invaluable to my practice
RY, Therapeutic Teacher & Mentor
Understanding trauma through a child’s voice was a powerful and refreshing approach. The use of real-life, real-world scenarios helped me clearly see how therapeutic techniques can be applied to each individual.
